New homes

Negra and Beeker just went to their new home. I discovered Negra had a huge chunk out of her ear. It wasn't new-we just skimmed over it when we won her. That's what you get with a raffle bunny I guess. At least we had feed costs covered.
They lady they went to agreed to let me use Beeker for breeding in the future. They were really wanting to breed lop eared bunnies- I told them that these two weren't show quality, but that they would eventually make beautiful babies- and they were sold. I'll have to talk to her about one of the future babies...
In any case, I made room for a new bunny! Lops of Love OT1, Pending GC, Opal, barely a year old. He's bred to my solid chin doe, and I'm hoping for something other than Chestnut in the nestbox, fingers crossed!
Anyone from AZ or NM who raises Bunnies- I'm pretty sure we're putting on a show! It'll be a double open and youth show in Show Low, AZ on October 3. Everything is in a tentative, pending phase, right now but I will update as time goes on and as this idea develops.

Realized Something Today

I am awful at culling. Simply terrible at it. Out of 10 rabbits, 3 are showable.

Champagnes:
Pepper- Old! Used to be a grand show rabbit, has not aged well.
Peacocks "_"- Old and sick. Constant poor condition.
Fou Fou- Genetic DQ....

Mini Lops:
Sam- Show Quality.
Negra- (Barely) show quality.
Piggy- Old and lost condition.
Beeker- Chewed ears.

Himalayans:
Marshal- Show Quality.
Lily- SMUT! Gah
Jack- Baby Smut.

So... I have a grand total of three showable rabbits. It's time to move out that old stock, me thinks.

Introduction Post!

Hi! I'm Erin. I raise Mini Lops and Champagnes in the White Mountains of AZ, and help with/co-own a few Himalayans with my sister. We've been pretty successful with our rabbits with multiple BOBs, BOGs, BOSs and this year, our first BIS! We like to think we're getting better at this.

We travel to shows throughout AZ and NM. You can contact me for a list of shows we'll be attending- This includes 2009 convention, our first one!

I will try to post a blog every other day, at least one a week.
